Why Do I Always Post #FridayHustle?

Everyone asks why the #FridayHustle

Let me tell you a story…

One day when I was working in credit card processing, I called a friend of mine.  He was in payroll services, which is always a great referral partner for credit card processing.  He is a long-time friend and it had been a while since we talked, so he was happy to hear from me.  After catching up I brought up the idea of us partnering up.

Sure!  He loved the idea.  So I started telling him about a few ideas that I had.

“Hannah…”  he said almost kind of laughing…

“Let’s talk about it Monday.  No one works on a Friday afternoon!”

What?  It was not even noon on Friday?  What is he talking about?

But when I think about it – it’s pretty normal, right?

There tends to be golf games, long lunches, early happy hours.  Friday tends to a lot of times be the “half day.”  The day you start planning your weekend.

That’s bullshit.

To me… Friday is the best day of the week to get stuff done.  To find my clients.  Do you know why?  Because everyone else is out "golfing."

We toss around the word “hustle” a lot.  But does a real hustler moan about the Mondays.  Late start… spend the whole morning up-ing their coffee intake and catching up on what everybody did for the weekend.

Then there’s Taco Tuesday.

Hump DayThirsty Thursday

Then it’s Early Friday.

A “hustler” is always on the grind.  We do not follow a normal work week.

To me, personally, all a Friday is, is the day before the day I get to work without distractions.   Usually in my sweats, on my couch or in the sun.  But uninterrupted.

Usually I will take one long lunch during the week.  Maybe leave early once a week.

But because I am a Hustler. Because I am on a mission.  And because I am getting my shit done – I take off when I am tired.  When my brain is fried.

I don’t come up with new reasons every day on how to skip out on the work.  Because I love to work.

Some think that life is a work-life balance.  And I totally get that.  It’s just not me.

And it’s not because I am trying to make more money.  It’s because I love the chase. I love to see what I can do.  I love to see if I can figure it out.

Sometimes I fall straight on my face.  Sometimes I have one of those days where I throw up my hands and give up.  I leave.  Do something relaxing.  Go take my nieces to lunch maybe.  And I start again the next day.

And guess what day that is.

I have no clue.  Because it doesn’t matter.  I’ve got work to do and just because its (enter whatever day you want here) doesn’t mean that the job is done.

That is why I make Friday my Hustle Day. Because the hustle never stops.

Oh… and guess what my friend is doing?  Four years later?

The. Same. Thing.
